UNIT : MATTER IN OUR SURROUNDINGS

Answer the following questions

1. Differentiate between the properties of three states of matter .

2. Design an activity to show that the particles of matter are very small – they are small beyond our imagination . Name the physical state of matter in each case on the properties given below

i) Definite size but no definite shape

ii) Rigid

3. Give reason for the following

i). Solid CO2 is stored under high pressure

ii). Naphthalene balls disappear with time without leaving any solid

iii). We can get the smell of perfume sitting several metres away

iv) After your morning exercise you feel cold

v). A gas fills completely the vessel in which it is kept .
